privacy policy

ideas4writers is totally committed to protecting your privacy.

We do not share your personal information with anyone else.

We ask for the absolute minimum of details from you.

Our online database stores your membership number, email address, encrypted password, and membership options.

Any additional personal information you supply when you join is destroyed as soon as we are satisfied that your membership has been set up correctly.

Credit/debit card details are not held by or processed by ideas4writers, but by Nochex or PayPal on our behalf via their secure system. We receive a confirmation from these services when you make a payment, but this does not contain any details about your card. Please refer to the above websites for their own privacy policies.

We will occasionally invite you to complete questionnaires and surveys to help us improve our service or develop new products. The answers you provide will not be linked to you personally, and once the information has been collated, all individual replies will be destroyed.

Cookies

The main part of the ideas4writers website does not use cookies.

The members-only part of the site uses session cookies to identify that you have logged in. Our forums use persistent cookies so that you only have to log in one a month rather than on every visit. We do not use any other sort of cookies, and we do not have any third-party cookies (i.e. cookies issued by other companies).

Session cookies are small text files that are stored in your computer's memory by your web browser. We send you a session cookie each time you log into the members' zone. The cookie contains your membership number and a random number that changes each time you log in. The session cookie is destroyed when you log out of the members' zone or close your web browser. If you do not agree to accept session cookies from us you can block them by changing your web brower's privacy settings. However you will no longer be able to access the ideas4writers members' zone.

Persisent cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer's hard drive. Our forum software will send you a persistent cookie when you log in, and it will remain on your computer for one month, after which it will be automatically destroyed. The persistent cookie contains your forum membership number and the expiry date. If you do not agree to accept persistent cookies from us you can block them by changing your web brower's privacy settings. However you will need to log into the forum every time you use it - it will not remember your details.

Other tracking services

This site uses the ClickTale web analytics service (only on the page that advertises The Fastest Way to Write Your Book). ClickTale may record mouse clicks, mouse movements, and scrolling activity. ClickTale does not collect personally identifiable information that you do not voluntarily enter. It does not track your browsing habits across web sites which do not use ClickTale services. ideas4writers uses the information to see which parts of our sales page is being read and which parts need more attention in order to increase sales. You can choose to disable the Service at http://www.clicktale.net/disable.html.

This site uses Google Analytics to count the number of visitors it receives, how often they visit, how long they stay for, and where they are logging in from. It does not collect or store any personal information that could be used to identify you.

By using the ideas4writers website you agree to the collection and usage of the information detailed above. In the unlikely event that we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page, and notify all members by email.
